Dear Leadership Big Canoe Class of 2010
On behalf of the Board of Directors, I welcome you to the fifth year of Leadership Big Canoe (LBC). Over the last four years, 92 residents have completed the course and are serving in leadership positions within and outside the gates of Big Canoe. We hope you will join them in active roles in areas that match your skills and personal needs to “give back,” to others.
Our course is organized into seven class sessions followed by a graduation luncheon in April. We will meet from 8:45 a.m. until noon on one Friday a month according to the schedule below. We ask all class members to be on time and attend all class sessions. We will be meeting in the Dogwood Room at the Clubhouse for each class, and we encourage you to stay for lunch (on your own) and get to know your fellow class members and Board of Directors. Please feel free to invite a guest for the lunch portion of the session. Menus will be provided at the beginning of class.
I am requesting that you fill out a brief biography (no more than 200 words) and also answer three questions that will help us prepare for your needs in this year’s class. Click here to see the biography request and the three questions right here on our website.
Please send the biographical information to Phyllis Deane at

and the answers to the three questions to Dick Scharf at

Please submit your responses before August 26 at the latest. At our first meeting, we will ask each participant to give a one-minute self-introduction.
Thank you for agreeing to be an active participant in LBC 2010. We are confident that you will learn much about Big Canoe, make new friends, and decide what part you can play in the betterment of our mountain community.
Sincerely,
Brian Roberts, Chair of LBC 2010

It’s
that time again. Leadership Big Canoe (LBC) will be starting the
2009-2010 class on September 11, 2009, and we are accepting
applications from qualified Big Canoe residents now.
Over
ninety people have been through the course now and almost without
exception, they found the experience both informative and challenging.
And, I might add, fun.
